A textural palette, a play of colours – this 4-room HDB apartment was designed with the homeowner’s love of her memorabilia, Bohemian sensibilities and her need for an open and spacious layout that allows for switching the space up when needed. Walls of the first bedroom was taken down to give way to a light-filled living and dedicated dining space, where some colour-blocking was applied to create visual interest. Mirroring these coloured walls is a half-height botanical wallpaper feature that frames the entire living and dining space; adding a boho-country vibe as you enter the home.
A custom Terrazzo counter was incorporated to the kitchen, and paired with blush cabinets and brass handles. These hues are further tied together with a warm grey tiled backsplash, giving rise to a fuss-free and functional kitchen space. Both bathrooms in the apartment shared some commonalities in the tiles used, but each had its own distinct identity in the way the colours are matched.
The light and breezy Master Bedroom features loose furniture pieces that are a play on materials such as wood, metal and rattan. Steering away from all white walls, the sage and blush-peach hues on the walls and ceiling encapsulates the room with a laid-back and soothing atmosphere.
