Located in Bidadari, one of Singapore’s large estates envisioned as an urban oasis, this 3-room BTO apartment was designed for a young family of 3. With an active lifestyle in mind, and in particular cycling as a sport, the space had to be flexible enough for training as well as free play for a toddler. Overall,  the palette is kept neutral with pops of colour around the various spaces for visual interest – and that includes a terrazzo-inspired panel that accentuates a cozy reading nook in the living room.

One of the main focal points of the home is centred around the dining area – where a custom built-in table fits right by the entrance and kitchen, providing a bit more open space in the rest of the living area for lounging and play. An element that ties the various areas together is the use of the colour blue. It is applied across the home from the kitchen cabinets, to a half-height painted wall in the kid’s room and to the glazed subway tiles in the master bathroom.
